Cambridge Police Recognized by International Association of Crime Analysts
2011 Annual Crime Report awarded first place in statistical report category
The Cambridge Police Department Crime Analysis Unit was recently recognized by the International Association of Crime Analysts (IACA) and awarded first place in the statistical report category for its 2011 Cambridge Police Department Annual Crime Report.
“That the IACA awarded first place to the Cambridge Police Annual Crime Report speaks not only to the exemplary work performed by our crime analysts, but also to the level of commitment our department has to the residents of Cambridge, and all those who have been victimized by crime in our city,” said Lieutenant Daniel Wagner, Commanding Officer of the Cambridge Police Department Crime Analysis Unit.
The award was presented during the International Association of Crime Analysts 2012 Annual Training Conference which ran from September 10 – 14, 2012. The conference had more than 370 attendees from 34 states, the District of Columbia, Austria, Canada, Chile, Columbia, France, Hong Kong, Netherlands, South Korea, Trinidad & Tobago, and the United Kingdom.
This is a significant achievement as the IACA receives submissions for this contest from many departments across the country and internationally.
Last year, Cambridge Police were recognized by the IACA for their BridgeStat Monthly Crime Reports.
