Cambridge Police Invite Community to Attend Youth Photovoice Exhibit
Youth researchers will present their community safety audit to the Cambridge City Council
On Monday, September 10, youth action researchers from Cambridge will be presenting their Community Safety Audit and Photovoice Exhibit to the Cambridge City Council beginning at 5:00 p.m. in the Sullivan Chambers at Cambridge City Hall.
This summer, eleven Cambridge residents, ages 15 to 23, assisted in a community safety audit as part of a federal Community Transformation Grant awarded to a coalition of Middlesex County communities. The youth documented the causes and effects of unsafe environments in the city through a method called Photovoice.
These researchers will be sharing their photographs and presenting their findings and recommendations with the community in six areas: City Maintenance, Residential Maintenance, Health, Crime, Homelessness, and Positive Prevention.
The exhibit opens at 4:30 p.m. and the presentation begins at 5:00 p.m. Members of the Cambridge Police Department Command Staff, and city department heads and officials will be in attendance.
Visit www.facebook.com/CambridgePolice for a sample of photos from the exhibit and to see comments and feedback from members of the community.
