Two Arrested Following Stabbing in Central Square
Cambridge Police made a pair of arrests early this morning after a Boston resident was stabbed following an altercation.
At approximately 2:08 a.m. on Saturday, August 16, Cambridge Police responded to an assault involving a large group of males. When police arrived, a victim was suffering from a small puncture wound on the side of his lower back. He spoke with officers and pointed to a vehicle that was attempting to exit a municipal garage in the area of Green Street and Pearl Street. Officers ordered the passengers to stop and exit the vehicle. The passenger, Sean Hunter, 20, 80 Dabney Street, Roxbury, was identified as the suspect responsible for stabbing the victim. He was arrested for Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon. The victim was treated for non-life threatening injuries at a local hospital.
During the investigation, the night manager of the garage alerted officers of a second vehicle that was trying to exit the garage. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle and speak with the passengers, but the driver refused to follow orders. After several requests, the driver drove towards and nearly hit an officer. The driver, Zikeem Ward, 21, 17 Bradlee Street, Boston, ultimately stopped and was arrested for Assault with a Dangerous Weapon/Motor Vehicle, two counts of Failure to Stop for Police, Resisting Arrest, and Carrying a Dangerous Weapon While Disturbing the Peace. Two box cutters were found in Ward’s pockets.
While two arrests have been made, the investigation is ongoing and anyone with any additional information is asked to contact Cambridge Police at 617-349-3300.
