Services For Teachers and Educators

The Cambridge Public Library is committed to supporting local educators through our collections, programs and outreach efforts.  In addition to our collections for teachers and parents, librarians are available for tours, database instruction, research assistance, storytimes and booktalks.  Give us a call at 617-349-4038 for any of the following services:

Assignments and Projects
We are eager to make our resources accessible to teachers and students.  With advance notice, children's librarians can set aside materials relevant to a project or assignment and request additional materials as well.  We can also help your students navigate online resources and databases.

Library Visits
Schedule a visit and bring your class to the library!  We’d love to give you and your class a tour, get everyone a library card and show you all the resources available and how to find them.

Programs
Children’s librarians can also provide parent and teacher workshops on topics such as choosing excellent picture books, the importance of family reading, and techniques for reading aloud.

Outreach
If you are unable to visit the library, a children’s librarian from the Cambridge Public Library can visit you.
