Early Childhood Resource Center
Welcome to the Greater Boston Early Childhood Resource Center (ECRC)!
The Cambridge Public Library is the proud home of the Greater Boston ECRC, which includes materials, services, programs and other resources for the early childhood community. It is funded by the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care.
Check it out! Explore the ECRC Collection.
The ECRC collection contains books and materials selected for early childhood educators, parents, caregivers and those interested in early education. You can find the ECRC collection in the Main Library Children’s Room. Browse and borrow materials whenever you visit or search the Minuteman Library Online Catalog and have items sent to your home library.
Get inspired! Attend a Workshop.
Throughout the year, the Greater Boston ECRC hosts workshops and programs focusing on current topics about children and child development. For more information check our Events page or call the Main Library Children’s Room at 617-349-4038.
Take a hike! Build literacy through a StoryWalk®.
Conceived to inspire parents, teachers, and caregivers to take young children out of doors, StoryWalk® helps build children’s interest in reading together while encouraging healthy activity. The Museums/Libraries Project of The Race to the Top – Early Learning Challenge grant has created a Massachusetts statewide collection of StoryWalks® held by the ECRC libraries. StoryWalks® are available to CFCE’s, museums, and other libraries to borrow and use in their local communities. Contact Julie Roach at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
