Local writer and Lesley University alum Judah Leblang’s show, “One Man’s Journey through the Middle Ages,” is based on his recent memoir, Finding My Place, which chronicles both his youth growing up in Cleveland, Ohio during the 1960s and ‘70s, his ongoing attachment to that gritty city and its unfortunate sports teams, and his life today as a gay, single, hard of hearing man in Boston.
The show explores a series of misadventures in which ‘Man planned and God laughed,’ including a missed connection/affair at President Obama’s first inauguration, a clothing malfunction in the gay mecca of Provincetown, Massachusetts, and a sudden onset of hearing loss at age 49.
Judah Leblang is a Boston-based writer, teacher and storyteller. His radio essays and commentaries have been broadcast on almost 200 NPR and ABC radio network stations around the US. He is a regular columnist for Bay Windows, Boston's LGBT newspaper and an instructor at GrubStreet writing center. Copies of Finding My Place ($17) will be available for purchase at the show.
