Suggest a Purchase for the Collection

Is there a new title you think we may have missed?

The professional staff at the Cambridge Public Library base their purchase decisions on a number of factors. Some of those include:

  • Positive reviews in professional sources
  • Credentials of the author
  • Community interest
  • Scope of the book relative to the mission of public libraries
  • Cost
  • Availability in the network


We do not collect self-published titles unless they have received positive reviews in established review journals.

Title more than twelve months old are usually appropriate to pursue through the 6.5 million titles of the Minuteman Library network, the Virtual Catalog or Interlibrary Loan. However, there are exceptions; please be sure to include your reasoning.
