Get a Cambridge safeRide this New Year’s Eve!

The City of Cambridge License Commission, in partnership with the Cambridge Licensee Advisory Board (CLAB), announces the establishment of its Cambridge safeRide Program.  MIT’s Community Development Substance Abuse department and Ambassador Brattle Cab are also sponsors of this unique program.

The Cambridge safeRide Program will provide free taxicab rides for New Year's Eve revelers leaving from Cambridge alcohol licensed establishments and going to residential addresses.

This program, designed to deter drunk driving, will be in effect in Cambridge from 9 p.m. on New Year’s Eve until 7 a.m. on New Year’s Day. There is a $35 cap on cab rides and customers must be at least 21 years old to use this service.

Those needing a Cambridge safeRide should call 617-876-2000 between the hours mentioned above.

For more information, contact Richard V. Scali, License Commission Chairman, at 617-349-6140 or Joe Silva, Ambassador Brattle Radio Service, 617 864-5000, extension 3.
