Two National Night Out Against Crime Events Aug. 7

On Tuesday, August 7, the North Cambridge Crime Task Force will join forces with thousands of communities nationwide for the “16th Annual National Night Out” (NNO) crime and drug prevention event.  The North Cambridge Crime Task Force will sponsor several events during the day and evening at Rindge Field, adjacent to the Peabody School at 70 Rindge Avenue.  Rain date is Tuesday, August 14.

Morning Out will take place from 9:30 am-1:30 pm.  There will be amusement and pony rides, entertainment for children, games, prizes, food, refreshments, a roaming clown, DJ and exotic reptile and amphibian presentation. 

Night Out is from 5:30 pm-8:30 pm and includes a basketball competition for 11-16 year olds, community cookout, raffles, live entertainment, safety demonstrations, service organization tables, DJ, McGruff the Crime Dog, and pony and amusement rides.

National Night Out in North Cambridge happens because of residents, City officials, city departments, businesses and many others donate time, money and in-kind gifts to make the event a success.  For more information, call the North Cambridge Crime Task Force at 617-349-4293.

All events are free and open to the public.  Funds are provided by the Massachusetts Executive Office of Public Safety as administered by the Cambridge Police Department.
