What's New on the Cambridge Historical Commission Website

Welcome.   Here are the most recent additions to our web site:

  1. Old Burying Ground burial online research aids. Epitaphs from the Old Burying Ground in Cambridge (1845) by William T. Harris. (This publication is also available online at Google Books). We also have an index and maps of the burial plots that was compiled in 2000 by Richard B. Anderson, Ed.D. (more info available at http://commensa.net/) from our files and map of the cemetery. These files have recently been scanned and can be downloaded as four pdf files: Cover material and notesBase map and smaller sub-maps;  Name indexSub-map index. These are large files, especially the maps file. User feedback is welcome.

  4. Full text of blue oval markers now available.

  5. New links to Cambridge histories, maps, and town records that are available online. See library and links pages.

  6. Half Crown-Marsh NCD's adopted Guidelines for Infill Construction and Substantial Additions or Alterations

  7. Finding aids for archival collections are now available online.

  8. A site map has been added, outlining the organization of the website.
