Farmer's Market

Hand washing equipment required

All farmer's markets have market managers.  Vendors must contact market managers for the market's requirements and approval to participate.

The City of Cambridge is accepting applications via an online permitting system.  Each vendor must register through the online system and be approved by Inspectional Services to begin the process.  Market Managers must supply a list of vendors to ISD and each vendor must apply online for a permit. Farmers (based on the State's definition) are not required to pay a fee, but are required to submit an application. The vendors must be approved by the market manager prior to application.

Sampling must be pre-approved by ISD.

Cooking and food demonstrations must be pre-approved by ISD.

Vendors selling products by weight must use a scale calibrated by the Weights and Measures Department (617-349-6133).
