Apply for Afterschool Programs

Human Service Programs

Our afterschool program is designed to build children’s social skills and enhance their school-day learning. Children engage in developmentally appropriate project-based learning curriculum, both individually and in groups.

For 10 months of the year (including early release days), all seven classrooms provide care from the end of the school-day until 5:55 p.m.  Programs are open during school vacation weeks and on snow days.   All programs have a staff-to-teacher ratio of 3 staff to 24 or 25 children.

All afterschool programs are licensed by the Department of Early Education and Care and our staff are trained in basic inclusionary practices.

How to Start

  1. Enrollment is open to all Cambridge residents or city workers on a first come first serve basis.
  2. Parents or guardians may place a child one year or older on a wait list at anytime.
  3. Those interested in applying are requested to complete and sign a Waitlist / Enrollment Request Form.
  4. Program staff will contact you by telephone when an opening occurs in any of the Department of Human Services Programs you have selected.
  5. If the program is in session, a visit to the program can also be arranged.

Requirements

Completing the Waitlist/Enrollment Request form does not enroll you into a program. It places you on the waitlist for the programs you have selected.
