Repointing the bricks at DPW

The City of Cambridge is hosting an information session for Building Pathways, a pre-apprenticeship program for construction trades, Monday, Aug. 31, at 6 p.m. at 51 Inman St., Cambridge. 

Building Pathways is a six-week, highly competitive program designed to prepare qualified men and women for an apprenticeship in one of the building trades through classroom and hands-on learning.   Candidates must meet all of the eligibility criteria listed below and have a genuine interest in the construction trades. 

To be eligible, you must:

  • Be age 18 or older;
  • Have a high school diploma or GED;
  • Have a valid driver’s license;
  • Have a car;
  • Be able to do challenging physical work and tolerate weather extremes;
  • Be drug-free and able to pass a drug test before & during the program;
  • Have good math & English skills (there’s a test);
  • Be authorized to work in the US.
