Women's History on Wheels

Saturday, May 20

Assemble at 9:30 AM at the Cambridge Public Library, Main Branch (449 Broadway)

Ride departs at 10:00 AM

The Cambridge Bicycle Committee is excited to present our spring bike tour of Cambridge, which is entirely supported by volunteers and donations. We have great partners lined up for Saturday, May 20, when we will enjoy a leisurely ride through the streets of Cambridge as part of the city's annual Bike Month activities.

The theme of this spring's bike tour is a celebration of women’s history in Cambridge, passing sites associated with fascinating women who have left their mark on literature, education, law, science, music, culinary arts, law enforcement, architecture, civil rights, public health and more.

We will start at the Cambridge Public Library Main Branch with a brief introduction. The ride itself will take about two hours and will include a couple short stops along the way related to the ride's theme. We'll be escorted by the Cambridge Police Department's Bike Patrol. The ride will end back at the Cambridge Public Library with snacks supplied by our food and beverage donors, including the RSTA Culinary Arts Program and Trader Joe's.

We are also excited to have models of the Flycycle rack, which was selected during the MIT CoLab competition as having the potential for higher density bicycle parking. This beautiful rack needs to be tested using a variety of bicycle types, so please stop by, try it out, and give us your thoughts!

The ride will be cancelled in the case of heavy rain. Announcements regarding rain will be sent to this email list and posted on the Cambridge Bike Tours website.

There is no registration or charge for the tour -- just show up and enjoy a relaxing ride on beautiful spring day!
