National Bike Month Kicks Off!

City of Cambridge Hosts Events & Provides Giveaways All Month Long

May is Bike Month and we're celebrating. The City of Cambridge will be giving away free bike lights & reflective gear, hosting bike education workshops, and decorating bikes at more than a dozen outreach events (see full listing below) throughout the city. We are also giving away educational materials and other gear to help you get around by bike comfortably and safely.

• Saturday, May 5, 11:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. ~ Kennedy Longfellow School Spring Fling, 158  Spring Street, Bike Decorating!
• Saturday, May 5, 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. ~ Affordable Housing Community Celebration, Sennott Park, 305 Broadway, Bike Decorating!
• Wednesday, May 9, 3:00-5:00 P.M. ~ Urban Cycling and Bike Maintenance Basics Youth Workshops with the Library Teen Room, 449 Broadway

  • Must be a middle school or high school student to attend
• May 12-20: MassCommute Bicycle Challenge! Hop on your bike, log your miles, and help Cambridge ride along to first place in this years competition.

  • Drop in to ask specific questions of MassBike instructors about fixing your bike!
