Moving Container Permit


Moving Containers/Crate Permits are issued by Traffic, Parking & Transportation.  To obtain a Moving Containers/Crate Permit, complete application and submit on line only if the move date is greater than 4 business days away. 

Modification of date, time or location to permits will not be accepted after signs have been posted unless due to extreme weather conditions.   In the event that an applicant requests a posting modification after signs are posted, there will be no refund and applicant's must re-apply and pay for a new permit.

Permit Hours and Fees:

  • Permit Hours:          Monday  8:30 AM – 8:00 PM
                                       Tuesday - Thursday   8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
                                       Friday 8:30 - Noon

    The Permit Division closes at noon (12:00pm) on Fridays.  Any applications submitted after 11:30am on Fridays will not be processed until the following Monday (Tuesday when Monday is a holiday). 

     Permit Fee:               $25.00 per day/container
                                       (Parking Meters $10.00/day if applicable)

  • All tagging & towing is subject to police availability.
  • Permit must be presented to police to remove illegally parked vehicles.
  • No Personal vehicles are allowed in reserved space.
  • Permittee must make provisions for pedestrian safety and/or emergency vehicles.
  • All moving vehicles must rear ramp. No ramping from truck to property.
  • All Moving Vehicles must be temporarily relocated to accommodate street cleaning and during a declared snow emergency.
