This week crews will be saw cutting along Amory Street between St. Mary Road and Hampshire Street. In other news, the City has awarded the Amory Street Reconstruction Project to D'Allessandro Corporation. The city's contractor is expected to begin the project in spring 2015.

June 23, 2014

Crews continue to update the water main and services on Amory Street. The Cambridge Water Department anticipates that the main and services between Broadway and St. Mary Road will be completed in the coming weeks. Once that is completed, crews will then make their way to update the water main and services between St. Mary Road and Hampshire Street.

On Thursday, May 15 at 6:30pm, the Community Development Department and the Department of Public Works will be hosting a community meeting at the DPW office (147 Hampshire Street) to discuss the upcoming Amory Street sidewalk and roadway reconstruction project. The project will also include pedestrian safety improvements. We encourage you to attend this meeting to learn more about the design and other important information related to the project.

April 30, 2014

The Amory Street Reconstruction Project is scheduled to begin between July 1, 2014 and June 30, 2014. The project is currently in the bidding process and a contractor is expected to be selected in June 2014. The Cambridge Water Department is currently updating the water main on Amory Street from Broadway to Hampshire. Once the water main update has been completed, NSTAR Gas will be onsite to making any necessary upgrades to the gas main and individual services.

No project schedule has been established. We are currently in the bidding process and expect to have a schedule available in July 2014.

The Amory Street Reconstruction Project includes:

- Roadway reconstruction

- Sidewalk reconstruction

- Traffic calming measures at the St. Mary Road intersection
