Over the past few weeks, crews have been repairing the sewer main on Mead Street, which was recently found to be in poor condition. In order to complete the repair, crews will need to repair the connection from the Mead Street sewer main to the Walden Street main. To ensure that this work is done quickly and efficiently, crews will be detouring northbound traffic on Walden Street (heading towards Massachusetts Avenue). This detour will go into effect this Wednesday, October 29, and is expected to be completed by Tuesday, November 4. Vehicles travelling in the southbound lane will not be impacted. General work hours will be from 7AM-4PM, Monday thru Friday. Emergency vehicles will maintain access at all times and city services will continue uninterrupted. Please click here for detour information.

In early September, the City’s contractor, D’Allessandro Corporation, installed a new drainage structure on Mead Street. While performing the drainage work, it was discovered that sewer line on Mead Street is in need of repairs. The sidewalk and roadway restoration phase of this project has been postponed until the sewer line has been repaired.

No project schedule has been established. We are currently in the bidding process and expect to have a schedule available in July 2014.
