Public Works is made up of many different specialized divisions and services. Check the links below for a more detailed description of what makes up Public Works.
The Administration Division includes Human Resources, MIS, Budget, Payroll and Public Relations.
The Cemetery Division provides complete burial services and genealogical information.
The Engineering Division oversees the design and construction of City infrastructure and manages records related to this infrastructure.
Park Maintenance provides safe, clean, attractive, and public open spaces for the community.
Recycling and trash services include curbside collection of trash and recycling, and yard waste. Other services include a Recycling Center, collection of large items and appliances, and several hazardous waste collections.
The city of Cambridge is committed to confronting the problem of rodent control.
Public Works clears snow and ice from all 125 miles of public streets in Cambridge, as well as from 18 miles of public sidewalk. The Department also enforces the City's sidewalk snow and ice removal ordinance.
