  • Longfellow Park Steps Restoration Project

    Beginning the week of April 2nd and continuing for the next two months, weather permitting, the Department of Public Works, in collaboration with the Cambridge Historical Commission, will be working to restore the steps and stone retaining walls at Longfellow Park.

  • Spring Showers Bring Limited Time Offer on Rain Barrels

    Capture the rainwater from your roof and store it in a rain barrel for later use in your garden. Purchase a 60-gallon rainwater collection system for $69.00 now through May 27th. Delivery is scheduled for Thursday, June 1st , from 4:30 -7:00 p.m. at the Cambridge DPW yard, 147 Hampshire Street.

  • Public Meeting- Stormwater Management Program

    The Cambridge Department of Public Works is holding a public meeting to discuss the City’s efforts in the implementation of its Stormwater Management Program on Tuesday, March 27, from 6:00 – 7:00 P.M., Department of Public Works, Frazier Conference Room, 147 Hampshire Street.

  • Urban Forest Master Plan Survey

    The City of Cambridge is collecting information on residents’ awareness and perceptions of the urban forest (all the trees in the city) through an online survey as part of the Urban Forest Master Plan project.

  • Household Hazardous Waste Day

    The City is sponsoring a Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day on Saturday, September 8th from 9AM-1PM in the Field Street Parking Lot at Danehy Park.

    The Urban Forest Master Plan (UFMP) will guide the development of the urban forest into the future and will include a strategic plan to evaluate, maintain and expand the urban forest canopy while being more resilient to climate change, reducing the urban heat island effect, mitigating stormwater runoff, reducing nutrient runoff, and contributing to community well-being. Please join us and our consultants for an update and discussion on the development of the Urban Forest Master Plan.
