City Seeking Members for Dog Park Working Group
City of Cambridge Seeking Members for Dog Park Working Group
The City of Cambridge is currently seeking a few resident members to serve on a Dog Park Working Group. This group will work with City staff to make recommendations to the City Manager, in collaboration with City Departments, on improvements that can be made for dogs in parks that are beneficial for all users of parks. This may include expansion of “shared use” of parks by off leash dogs during specified hours and regulations, and practices to ensure parks are in optimal condition for all users. This working group will advise City staff on all dog related issues including signage, gates, lighting, ground cover and dog drinking fountains in parks as well as enforcement of existing laws and regulations. This is a short-term committee that is expected to complete its recommendations within 6 months to one year. Cambridge residents (dog owners and residents who do not own dogs) and park users are encouraged to send a brief letter of interest by Friday May 17, 2013 via mail, fax or e-mail to:
Cambridge Department o Public Works
147 Hampshire Street
Cambridge, MA 02139
