Massachusetts Avenue Milling on Sunday, June 4

The City's contractor, Newport Construction, will mill both sides of the roadway on Massachusetts Ave, from Linnaean St to Upland Rd, on Sunday, June 4. The milling operation will begin at 7 AM and continue until complete (we expect the work to be completed by Sunday evening). Mass Ave will remain open during the milling, with reduced travel lanes.

Vehicle access in and out of properties will be somewhat limited during work hours while crews perform the roadway milling. Please plan vehicle trips accordingly.

Milling Schedule
  • On Sunday, June 4, crews will mill the roadway on Mass Ave in preparation for paving. 
  • Crews are scheduled to pave this section of Mass Ave on Sunday, June 11, weather permitting.
  • Please note, in the event of heavy rain, the milling operation will be rescheduled. 

What to Expect during Roadway Milling
  • Work hours will be 7 AM on Sunday, to 4 AM on Monday (if needed). 
  • Mass Ave will remain open during the milling operation, with reduced travel lanes.
  • Vehicle access in and out of properties will be somewhat limited during work hours. Please plan vehicle and parking trips accordingly. 
  • "No Parking" signs will be posted; please be sure to check dates/times. 
  • Emergency vehicles will have access at all times.
