Protect Your Home or Business from Potential Flooding

With the prospect of very heavy rain this weekend you are advised that overland flooding and surcharged drainage and sewer systems are possible. People should ensure that they take advance precautions against flooding and backups. To the extent possible, valuables should be removed from basements that are subject to flooding. People should not enter basements where flooding has occurred, due to both gas and electrical hazards, but rather should seek Fire Department assistance in mitigating the hazard.

The Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection website offers tips and resources for clean up efforts.
