Properly cleared sidewalk

Does your block have well shoveled sidewalks? Nominate it for the Best Shoveled Block in Cambridge Contest, sponsored by the Cambridge Post Office and Green Streets Initiative. Click here to see contest flier.

Call in nominations to 617-575-8738 (ask for Fran), or send in a photo and description to the Cambridge Post Office, 770 Massachusetts Ave, Cambridge, MA 02139.  You can also email walk-ride-days@comcast.net with your nomination.

Nominations will be due on Walk/Ride Day, February 25, 2011. The judges? Letter carriers, who use the sidewalks every day!
The winner will be awarded at a ceremony at the Central Square Post Office on Walk/Ride Day, March 25, 2011.

Walk/Ride Days occur on the last Friday of every month. On these days people everywhere are invited to first, go green and wear green... then celebrate and get rewarded! Visit the Green Streets Initiative's Website, www.gogreenstreets.org, to find out about discounts and incentives available to participants from Cambridge businesses. The Green Streets Initiative is an international grassroots organization based in Cambridge, MA that celebrates, promotes and advocates for the use of alternative transportation.
