Polystyrene is a type of plastic and includes both expanded polystyrene, commonly known as Styrofoam, and rigid polystyrene, or all other #6 plastics. This includes but is not limited to single-use disposable plates, cups, bowls, trays and hinged or lidded containers, straws, cup lids, or utensils. Common examples of rigid polystyrene may include cold or hot cup lids, condiment cups, utensils, Solo® cups, or clamshell food service containers.
