NOTICE: Pipe Lining on Fayerweather St, Granville Rd, and Green St

caution sign The information on this page may be outdated as it was published 7 years ago.

As part of the Trenchless Rehabilitation Program for sewer and stormwater infrastructure, the City’s contractor, Insituform, will be rehabilitating the sewer and stormwater pipes using a method known as cast-in-place pipe (CIPP) lining. This system will provide a new structurally sound sewer pipe that will significantly reduce root and water infiltration problems and improve flow. This CIPP lining work does not require excavation; however, trucks and equipment will be onsite to complete the work. No Parking signs will be posted at least 24 hours in advance. Please check daily for No Parking signs. Police officers will be on site to assist with vehicle and cycling traffic and pedestrians.

Work hours are 7am until completion of work which is up to 10 hours each day. There will be a temporary disruption of sewer service to your residence or business during this time. Affected properties will receive two hand delivered notices. The first notice will be distributed several days in advance, and the second will be a 24-hour notice. It is very important to limit water use on the day specified in the notice.

Below are the locations by week, weather permitting:
  • March 17: Fayerweather Street (near Gurney Street). This work is being coordinated with the Alewife Sewer Separation Project Team.
  • Week of March 20: Fayerweather Street (between Vassal Lane and Saville Street), Granville Road (north of Vassal Lane) and Green Street (Pleasant Street to Hancock Street).

There is no additional CIPP lining work is scheduled at this time. Thank you for your cooperation.
