Plantings

  • Flowerbeds must conform as to size and location with the special regulations from time to time in force.
  • Flowerbeds will not be permitted in locations which unduly interfere with the cutting of the grass and must be placed not more than twelve inches from the face of the central monument of the lot.
  • All flowers planted in beds must be removed from their pots and planted, not placed in the bed.
  • No artificial flowers may be placed on or planted in any lot or grave in the Cambridge Cemetery.
  • No bushes or shrubs are to be placed or replaced; dead or unsightly bushes or shrubs or those which have grown out of control, shall be removed.
  • The placing of boxes, shells, toys, metal design ornaments, chairs, settees or similar articles upon lots is prohibited and the Superintendent of Cemeteries will remove these articles without the liability for their loss.
  • No enclosures of any nature, such as fences, ditches, curb boxes or urns are allowed.
  • Vigil lights are not permitted.
  • Potted plants, baskets and cut flowers will be permitted on Easter, Mother's Day, Father's Day and Memorial Day. Wreaths and sprays are allowed in the Christmas season. All decorations will be removed ten days after the specified holiday or as soon as they become faded or unsightly.
  • The Cemetery will not be responsible for any flowers, flags, decorations, holders or other devices or receptacles placed on graves.
