Cambridge Street Tunnel
Crews have mobilized to the area to replace the 2” concrete overlay in the Cambridge Street Tunnel. The concrete overlay, which was installed in the summer of 2013, did not bond properly with the floor of the tunnel and began failing last fall. Over the winter and spring, sections of the overlay deteriorated and had to be replaced with temporary asphalt patches. The work will be done in phases to maintain one travel lane in each direction of the tunnel, and is expected to conclude in November 2014.
Crews will not be working on Monday, November 10 and Tuesday, November 12. For the remainder of the week, the contractor will focus on handicap ramps and granite curbing at Flaggstaff Park.
