Troubleshooting Tips for Large Item Permits
Common problems reported when applying for a permit:
1. The form does not appear on the page
Try or check the following:
a) Make sure you have allowed pop-ups on the webpage. For the application to work, you must allow pop-ups from the webpage.
b) Check the URL (web address) on the webpage to make sure the URL starts with (http) as opposed to (https). If the url starts with (https), remove the s and reload the page. This is a problem that has been found primarily with Chrome and Firefox users. The payment page does use (https)
2. You did not receive a permit by email. Some users report that they have not received an email with the permit attached.
a) Please check your junk mail or spam folder for a message from Cambridge Request System If you still cannot find the email, please call the DPW at (617) 349-4800 to confirm that your item is scheduled for pickup. Note that if you confirm with the office that your item is on the pickup schedule you will not need a copy of the permit.
3. The drop down boxes and/or the submit button on the form do not work.
