Graffiti Removal

Removing graffiti

Cambridge's graffiti removal program involves a cooperative effort between Public Works, the Police Department, residents, and property owners to remove graffiti from private property.

To report graffiti, call  Public Works at 617.349.4800 or email us.  Once the graffiti is reported, an inspector is sent out to examine the damage and to schedule cleaning of graffiti on public property.

If it is determined that Public Works can safely and effectively remove graffiti on private property,  a waiver form is sent to the owner of the property.  Upon receipt of the signed waiver, a crew is scheduled to remove the graffiti.
