Graffiti Removal

Removing graffiti

  • Cambridge's graffiti removal program involves a cooperative effort between Public Works, the Police Department, residents, and property owners to remove graffiti from private property.
  • To report graffiti use Commonwealth Connect
  • Once the graffiti is reported, an inspector is sent out to examine the damage and to schedule cleaning of graffiti on public property.
  • If it is determined that Public Works can safely and effectively remove graffiti on private property, a waiver form is sent to the owner of the property.  Upon receipt of the signed waiver, a crew is scheduled to remove the graffiti.

Tips for property owners who want to remove graffiti themselves.
