Parking Garage Rate Increases

The following rate schedule will go into effect on July 1, 2016:

Day Rate

1 Hour or Less:	$2.00
Over 1 Hour:	$2.00 per hour or fraction thereof.
Over 9 to 12 Hours:	$20.00
Over 12 to 24 Hours:	$22.00

Weekday Night Rate

Enter after 6:00pm, exit by 7:00am

1 Hour or Less:	$2.00
Over 1 Hour:	$2.00 per hour or fraction thereof.
Over 4 Hours:	$9.00

Weekend Rate (Daily maximum is unchanged)

Begins 7:00am Saturday and ends 7:00am Monday

1 Hour or Less:	$2.00
Over 1 Hour:	$2.00 per hour or fraction thereof.
Over 6 to 24 Hours:	$13.00

Rates are being increased at the Green Street Garage for two reasons:

1.      To provide additional spaces for people who need short- to medium-term parking in the Central Square area for business meetings, visiting local residents, shopping, or eating. To accomplish this goal and discourage all-day parking, the daily parking rate will now have a maximum of $20.00 for those who stay for 9-12 hours, with an additional $2.00 charge for those who stay 12 hours or more.

2.      To provide increased funding to support garage maintenance and offset increased operating costs.

Hourly rates at the Green Street Parking Garage have not changed since March 2009, and no changes are being made to the monthly rate at this time.

First Street Parking Garage

Effective July 1, the new daily rates will be:

Day Rate

1 Hour or Less:	$2.00
Over 1 Hour:	$2.00 per hour or fraction thereof.
Over 9 to 24 Hours:	$20.00

Weekday Night and Weekend Rate

Enter after 5:00pm, exit by 6:00am; all-day Saturday and Sunday

1 Hour or Less:	$2.00
Over 1 Hour:	$2.00 each hour or fraction thereof.
Over 2 to 24 Hours:	$5.00

Rates are being increased at the First Street Garage so that the rate structure is similar at both City garages and to raise additional revenue for capital maintenance and operations.

Hourly rates at the First Street Parking Garage have not changed since 2004, and no changes are being made to the monthly rate at this time.
