The Traffic Engineering Division maintains most bike racks on public property, such as, public sidewalks and parks throughout the city. If you believe a bike rack is damaged, bent, loose, missing, twisted or has been vandalized, please submit the attach form. If the bike rack is an immediate public safety concern, such as, lying in the street or blocking sidewalk access, please call the Traffic Department maintenance shop at 617-349-4742. Leave a message if no one answers; the voice mail is checked daily Monday – Friday. During the evenings and weekends, please call the Cambridge Police Department at 617-349-3300.
We do not install or maintain bike racks on private property. These racks are the responsibility of the property owner. If you are interested in having a bike rack installed, visit the community development department web site at http://www2.cambridgema.gov/cdd/et/bike/bike_park.html#install
