The American Legion has partnered with the Coalition to Salute America’s Heroes in an effort to distribute $500 grants to service members who have a 30 percent or higher disability rating as a result of injuries sustained while serving in the theaters of operations for Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) or Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF).

City workers who have served in Iraq or Afghanistan since 9/11 will receive full pay and benefits, including accrued vacation time, for there service overseas.
Members of the National Guard and reserve now can ask for assistance with their employment issues 24 hours a day through the Defense Department's Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve office.
An annuity in the amount of $2000, which is payable biannually on August 1st and February 1st in two installments of $1000 each is available for certain Veterans and their un-remarried surviving spouses, as well as Gold Star Parents.
