11/15/2017 3:25 p.m. Expect traffic delays on Sunday, Nov. 19, starting at 7:30 a.m. in Kendall Square, Central Square, Riverside & Cambridgeport during the 2017 Cambridge Half Marathon (Course Time Limit: 3 hours). The event will also impact MBTA bus service along the route. The 13.1 mile race starts at CambridgeSide, heads west through MIT & Harvard to No Beacon St. bridge in Watertown, then back along the Charles River to finish line in Canal Park. More details »


Cambridge Public Internet (CPI) Wifi Access Points

The City of Cambridge is proud to provide free public Wi-Fi at all public libraries, schools, City buildings, youth centers and select parks around Cambridge.  A goal of our public Wi-Fi program is to bridge the digital divide in Cambridge that disproportionately affects low income households.  Lack of internet access often translates to fewer opportunities for residents to engage and prosper in today’s digital society.  By providing free public Wi-Fi, the City of Cambridge aims to increase access to the internet in an effort to deliver economic and educational opportunities and benefits to its residents.

Wireless access to the Internet is available via the Cambridge Public Internet (CPI) at the following locations:

Here's what you need to know to access CPI Wi-Fi:

  • Provide your own Wi-Fi enabled laptop or device.
  • Connect to any of the following wireless networks: 
    • Cambridge Public Internet
    • Cambridge City Hall Public
    • Cambridge Public InternetA
  • Read and accept the Acceptable Use Policy for Wi-Fi
