The City has released a comprehensive Community Needs Assessment report to provide an in-depth understanding of Cambridge residents' most pressing needs and service gaps. The report's framework addresses residents' financial security, housing and food access, safety, and overall health. It also examines residents' access to educational, employment, and transportation opportunities and measures the extent to which residents regard Cambridge as a livable and caring community.

The purpose of the Community Needs Assessment Report is to help the City Council make informed decisions about future funding priorities in order to meet residents' needs. The report will also inform planning efforts undertaken by the City, Cambridge Community Foundation, and other community organizations.

The Needs Assessment Advisory Committee, Cambridge Community Foundation, representatives from the Cambridge Nonprofit Coalition, and representatives from the City worked with TDC consultants to create the report.

The Finance Committee voted to endorse the report and the guiding principles for Community Benefits funding. To view the full report, click here. For more information about the project, visit the Cambridge Needs Assessment project page
