Harvard Square kiosk and plaza

In 2017, the City established a Harvard Square Kiosk and Plaza Working Group, composed of residents, business and property owners, representatives from local institutions, and urban design experts, to create a vision for the future use, operation, and governance of the Harvard Square kiosk and plaza.

The Working Group process has involved wide-ranging public input, from surveys to Call for Ideas submissions. Following regular meetings and robust community feedback, the Working Group has generated a series of preliminary recommendations for the future of this space in the heart of Harvard Square. Join us to share your input, reactions, and ideas related to the recommendations. Public feedback will be incorporated into the Working Group’s final recommendations as it seeks to respect the kiosk’s integrity as an historical icon while enhancing the community-focused aspects of the surrounding Plaza.
