Vacant Storefront Creative Design Contest

The Vacant Storefront Creative Design Contest, a partnership between the Community Development Department and Cambridge Arts, aims to energize Cambridge neighborhoods by filling empty storefront windows with reproductions of locally-made art. Over 400 original art works were submitted to the contest by artists of all ages.

A jury has selected 13 semi-finalists, which are currently displayed in an online gallery and at the City Hall Annex, 344 Broadway.

The community will select the 5 finalist designs through voting in a People’s Choice Poll, open through Friday, March 8th at 5:00pm.

  • To vote online, click on the People's Choice Poll survey
  • To vote in person, visit the City Hall Annex (344 Broadway) to view a poster display and fill out voting cards located in the building's lobby.

Winning designs will be displayed in vacant ground-floor storefronts throughout the city and their artists will receive a one-time honorarium of $1,000.
