Draft Review and Public Comment on Use of HOME-ARP Grant Funds

In April of 2021, the City of Cambridge was awarded $2,325,283 by the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD) via the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (H.R. 1319). Signed into law on March 11, 2021, The Act directs resources to local communities to mitigate the health, housing and economic impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic through existing entitlement grant programs. These funds will be delivered to the City via its existing HOME Investment Partnership Act funding and will be henceforth known as HOME-ARP funds.  

The utilization of HOME-ARP funds is limited to certain activities and specific beneficiaries as determined by HUD.

Eligible Activities

  • Rental Housing
  • Tenant Based Rental Assistance
  • Supportive Services
  • Acquisition & Development of Non-Congregate Structures

Eligible Beneficiaries

  • Homeless
  • At-Risk of Homelessness
  • Fleeing, or Attempting to Flee, Domestic Violence, Dating Violence, Sexual Assault, Stalking or Human Trafficking
  • Certain Other Populations (per section 212(a) of NAHA (42 U.S.C. 12742(a))

Public Comment and Draft Availability

Review the DRAFT version of the HOME-ARP Plan.

Comments on the use of HOME-ARP funds and the DRAFT Plan will be received until March 17, 2023, and included in the Final Plan.
