The Economic Development Division works with the Center for Women & Enterprise, Cambridge Community Television (CCTV), Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and local organizations to provide business development programs and services to Cambridge residents, entrepreneurs, and businesses.

How to Create Engaging Video Content for Your Business - *New Date

  • Description: 93% of marketers are using video. Video is having a huge impact on how a company shares their messaging and how to share proper Call to Action. In this class, you will learn the basics of what goes into a video production, how to create a beneficial video on a shoestring budget, and techniques for capturing a professional looking video with mobile device. We recommend you bring a mobile phone with video capabilities to class. Is Entrepreneurship Right for You?

  • Description: Attend this workshop and decide whether starting your own business is right for you. As a part of this workshop, you will: explore the process and learn about the risks and rewards of starting up your own business; conduct a self-assessment that will help you decide if business ownership is right for you; find out the first steps to start a business; and get an overview of resources available to help you move forward with your business idea. *This workshop is a requirement for the March 2018 10-week Business Planning Program.

Connecting Your Business to the Commonwealth

  • Description: This workshop is designed for businesses that are interested in learning how to do business with the State. During this workshop participants will learn: about the bidding process and where to find bidding opportunities, the basics of COMMBUYS, the Commonwealth's online marketing center, how to market to public entities (including state and local agencies), and about the State's Small Business Purchasing Program and SDO Certification.

Shopify Workshop

  • Description: This workshop is an introduction to Shopify - -an e-commerce platform that has everything you need to sell online, on social media, or in person. You will learn how to set up an online store, create and edit product information, and integrate the platform with a credit card processor. Pre-requisite: You must either work on your own website, or actively serve as an administrator for an existing business, organization, or charity website.

Supplier Diversity Office (SDO) Pre-Certification Workshop

  • Description: This workshop is designed for the businesses that are interested in learning how to apply for SDO certification. To apply for certification as a MInority, Woman, Veteran, and/or Disadvantaged Business Enterprise, attending this Pre-Certification workshop is required. Get information on how to begin the certification process. Certification may help you to: become more marketable for government entities, learn about new government bidding opportunities, and create Business to Business (B2B) partnerships.

Speed Mentoring Clinic

  • Description: Get an opportunity to meet with up to four small business experts and get your questions answered in one evening! Multi-Channel Marketing Webinar
