The Economic Opportunity and Development Division works with the Cambridge Community Television (CCTV), Center for Women and Enterprise, Commonwealth of Massachusetts, SCORE Boston, Growth with Google, and local organizations to provide business development programs and services to Cambridge residents, entrepreneurs, and businesses.

Please note - Registrations close 2 HOURS BEFORE the workshop begins (unless otherwise noted below). Classes may be cancelled or postponed due to lack of registration. Please call the Division at 617/349-4637 to check the status of a workshop.

Turbocharge Your Business Journey Workshop - Leadership

  • Date: Tuesday, March 26, 2024
  • Time: 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. 
  • Location: Online via Zoom. 
  • Description: Discover what it takes to create a great business through effective leadership. Craft a compelling vision that structures a winning culture and fosters collaborative teamwork. We’ll discuss stepping into a leadership role whether you’re a solopreneur or managing cross-functional teams. Learn how to focus on people, including yourself, so you can optimize profits. This workshop is part of a four part series. Instructor: Tisha Hood, Breadcrumbs Creative.

Small Business Leasing Workshop

  • Date: Tuesday, April 30, 2024
  • Time: 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. 
  • Location: Online via Zoom. This workshop will be recorded.
  • Description: Are you interested in leasing a physical space for your small business but do not know where to start? This workshop is for you! At this online workshop, you will: learn about the retail leasing process, from planning to opening, receive a copy of Graffito's "Tenant Roadmap to Retail Leasing" Toolkit, and get answers to your questions with experts in commercial real estate.

Intermediate Social Media Strategy Workshop Series

  • Date: Wednesdays - May 22, May 29, June 5, and June 13, 2024
  • Time: 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.
  • Location: In person at CCTV, 438 Massachusetts Ave., Cambridge, MA 
  • Description: Have a social media presence for your business and interested in taking it to the next level? In this four (4) session workshop you'll hone your social media strategy and grow your audience. Participants are expected to have an already established social media presence for their business and / or have completed the Beginner Social Media Strategy Winter Series. We will be doing hands-on, project based activities in class. Come prepared with your own devices. Instructor is Vinny Prezioso.
