Description

PLEASE NOTE: Due to statewide emergency actions limiting the size of public gatherings in response to COVID-19, this meeting will be held online with remote participation and will be closed to in-person attendance. The public can participate online via the Zoom webinar platform (https://zoom.us/) from a phone, tablet, or computer. Check your email junk folder if you do not receive a registration confirmation in your inbox. Written comment is welcome up to 24 hours before the meeting and may by sent by e-mail. Public hearing of the Cambridge Historical Commission to review applications to alter designated properties, review demolition applications, and other matters under the provisions of M.G.L. Ch. 40C and Ch. 2.78 of the Code of the City of Cambridge. The Commission meets monthly, usually on the first Thursday of the month.   • 28 Union Street by Ann McGovern MacAdam, owner. Request to initiate a landmark study.
  • Case 4322: 213 Brattle St., by Mary Gehring and Jon Penterman. Construct driveway for parking of one car.

  • Case 4323: 271 Cambridge St., by 271 CS Investor LLC, Phil Smith, Manager. Increase the size and number of glazed windows and doors to provide more light into the office building. Request received from applicant to postpone hearing.

  • Case 4326: 9 Shady Hill Sq., by Carter S. Bacon, Jr. Construct a one-story screened porch on SW elevation, re-stucco house exterior, replace slate roof with new slate, replace wood gutters with copper.
  • Case 4327: 58 Charles St., by BMR-58 Charles Street LLC. Install rooftop mechanical;  replace windows and doors; alter landscaping and signs; re-point brick masonry; install other mechanicals and loading dock at rear.
  • Case 4349: 243 Bent St. #1, by Ronald E. Peeples. Install two windows in new openings on the Fifth St. elevation.
  • Case 4350: 96 Winthrop St., by Raj Dhanda, o/b/o The Boiling Crab, tenant. Alter exterior mechanicals, restore original door.
