Description

PRESENTATION OF HOUSING STUDY FINDINGS

The City partnered with the National Initiative on Mixed-Income Communities (NIMC) at Case Western Reserve University to undertake a study to learn about Cambridge residents’ experience in their buildings and communities, focusing on their experience of social inclusion and bias, particularly in Inclusionary Housing. The NIMC team will present its findings and recommendations at 3 meetings. Two meetings will be virtual (December 8 & 14) and one meeting will be in person (December 10).

MORE INFORMATION:

Through confidential phone surveys, NIMC heard from hundreds of Cambridge residents. Participants shared their perceptions of their buildings and communities, including their sense of belonging, their experiences with bias, and for participants in Inclusionary Housing, their experiences with the Inclusionary Housing program. The survey included both tenants and homeowners in Inclusionary Housing, affordable housing owned by non-profit housing providers, and market-rate housing in buildings with Inclusionary Housing.

CDD will be holding 3 meetings where NIMC will present findings from the study.
