TOPIC: Exoplanets
The first planet orbiting another star like the Sun was discovered in 1995. In the twenty years since, astronomers have found 1500 exoplanets, and the hunt is on for planets that resemble our own Earth. Lecture will cover how we detect these distant worlds, and we’ll take a tour of some of the strangest planetary systems that have been discovered.
