Fuel Assistance Program
51 Inman Street
The Cambridge Fuel Assistance Program has been extended through Friday, May 29th.
The Fuel Assistance Program helps eligible Cambridge and Somerville residents pay their heating bills by notifying and paying vendors directly on behalf of participants that pay out of pocket for their heating costs. Program participants whose heat is included in their rent could be eligible to receive a payment for 30% of their monthly rent.
Eligibility is determined by gross household income that falls within the Federal Poverty guidelines.
If your household has had a change in income or household size since you completed your application, you may request another review of the Department of Human Service Program’s (DHSP) previous decision of eligibility (amount of assistance) or ineligibility. (The change in income or household size must have occurred on or before April 30, 2020.) You are encouraged to submit the documentation of the change to DHSP as soon as possible. See below for contact information.
To participate in the Fuel Assistance Program, call 617-349-6252 and leave a message. A staff person will return your call as soon as possible. For more information, visit www.cambridgema.gov/DHSP/Fuel.
