Cambridge Summer Food Program Begins Monday, June 30. Program provides free and nutritious meals to Cambridge youth 18 and under.

The 2025 Cambridge Summer Food Program will begin on Monday, June 30! The program provides free and nutritious breakfast, lunch, and dinner meals to Cambridge youth ages 18 and under every weekday. Youth do not need to provide identification to receive a meal, and vegetarian options are available at every site. Operated by the City of Cambridge Department of Human Service Programs (DHSP), the Summer Food Program aims to increase food security for Cambridge children and families during the summer months.
Please note: the program will be closed on Friday, July 4
Monday through Friday, breakfast meals will be served from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. and lunch meals will be served from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. at the following locations:
- Anthony Costa Playground, Costa-Lopez Park, 71 Charles St.
- Donnelly Field, 61 Willow St.
- Fresh Pond Apartments Playground, 362–364 Rindge Ave.
- Glacken Field, 635 Huron Ave.
- Gold Star Mothers Park Playground, 123 Gore St.
- Greene-Rose Heritage Park Playground, 155 Harvard St.
- Hoyt Field Playground, 12 Gilmore St.
- Louis A. DePasquale Playground, Danehy Park, 66 Field St.
- Sennott Park, 310 Broadway
Dinner meals will be served during Cambridge Recreation Summer Basketball and Street Hockey Leagues from 6 – 7:30 p.m. at the following locations:
- Ahern Field, 104 Fulkerson St.
Tuesday and Thursday starting Tuesday, July 1
- Glacken Field, 661 Huron Ave.
Tuesday and Thursday starting Tuesday, July 1
- Hoyt Field, 12 Gilmore St.
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday starting Tuesday, July 1
- Sennott Park, 310 Broadway

Recreation Activities at the Summer Food Program
After enjoying breakfast and lunch meals, Cambridge youth can join Recreation staff for games and activities at the parks. This summer, we're excited to introduce Fun Under the Sun, a new collaboration with Cambridge Recreation that invites young people to play an organized sport or recreational activity at a rotating park locations on Mondays and Wednesdays beginning July 7. Cambridge Book Bike also visits a Summer Food site every week, inviting young people to enjoy story time and choose a free book to take take home. Additionally, the program provides free snacks at Screen on the Green Family Movie Nights.
Rain Locations
In the event of rain or dangerous weather, outdoor summer food sites will be cancelled. Breakfast and lunch meals will be served at the Cambridge Senior Center (806 Massachusetts Ave.) and Fresh Pond Apartments (362 - 364 Rindge Ave.).
