Cambridge Police arrested James Howard, 43, 21 Walden Square in Cambridge, for warrants out of Boston District Court (Possession of a Burglarious Instrument, Receiving Stolen Property -$1,200, Breaking and Entering into a Motor Vehicle Daytime for Felony, and Malicious Damage to a Motor Vehicle). Howard was arrested following a Cambridge/Somerville investigation.

Cambridge Police Traffic Enforcement Officers were on a directed patrol in the area of Cambridge Street and Third Street and a traffic stop was conducted after officers observed a motorist using her cell phone while operating a motor vehicle. Subsequently after the stop it was revealed that the operator of the motor vehicle in question did not hold a current driver's license. As a result of the stop, a resident of Malden was issued a criminal application for Distracted Driving and Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle.

Cambridge Police was dispatched to the Chestnut Street residence for the report of a vehicle that had its rear passenger window smashed out and a back pack with two laptops taken. One of the victims stated she had parked the car overnight at 9 p.m. and just found the damage.
