    • Zing Laser Cutting 101 (Main)

      Learn how to use our Epilog Zing—an industry-standard laser cutting machine. Complete this workshop to earn a badge for the Zing laser cutter. With a badge, you can reserve the Epilog Zing to use on our equipment booking page at designated times. Note: The Epilog Zing laser cutter and Glowforge laser cutter require separate trainings. You must participate in the Glowforge workshop in order to operate our Glowforge Pro laser cutter. You must complete Hive Safety Training before registering for this workshop.

      Join the local mycologist Lawrence Millman for an educational walking tour of Fresh Pond Reservation. Millman is the author of Fascinating Fungi of New England, the first guidebook dedicated to understanding New England mushrooms. Together we will learn about existing species, the history of different species, and their role in our ecosystem. Registration is mandatory. The waitlist means your participation is not confirmed.     • Cambridge Science Festival: Chinese Art & AI with a Master Artist (Central Square)

      Explore traditional and AI art activities with master artist Xiang Li from the Forbidden City of Beijing, China. Celebrate the Year of the Dragon by coloring your favorite Chinese dragon. Experiment with AI art creation using DALL-E from Open AI, Adobe Express and others to personalize images inspired by traditional Chinese paintings. We will show you quick and easy ways to create eye-catching AI images of your own. We encourage questions, so you can learn techniques suited to your specific goals. In addition to Xiang Li, her daugther Fei Wu (founder of Feisworld Media, AI expert and voice for CNET), Adam Leffert (co-founder of PodIntelligence and full-stack web developer), Tripti Gore Chandorkar (content writer for Xiang Li Art) will all be there to support you and maximize your learning throughout this 2-hour session.
