    • Aging with Mindfulness (Virtual)

      This program, led by Zeenat Potia, will introduce and utilize mindfulness techniques to help us examine and regulate everyday life changes with a focus on aging. Participants will learn and benefit from the development of a mindfulness practice to enable responding to getting older in a calm, clear and thoughtful manner. Presented in Partnership with Cambridge Insight Meditation Center (CIMC). Rooted in the Theravada Buddhist tradition,CIMC is a welcoming refuge and teaching Center for all who seek inner peace through the liberating practice of Insight Meditation (vipassana). As an urban center, and now as an online community, CIMC is dedicated to the integration of practice into every aspect of community and daily life. Visit the CIMC Website. Registration is required.     • 3D Printing 101: Game Piece Design (Main)

      Learn how to create your favorite game piece in digital space and print it out using our Prusa 3D printers. Before taking this workshop: Complete Hive Safety Training Create a free Tinkercad account at www.tinkercad.com You will get hands-on experience running the 3D printer, gain fundamental 3D modeling skills using Tinkercad, and earn your 3D Printing certification for future reservations in The Hive. Create a Tinkercad account at www.tinkercad.com prior to arriving. Parents may need to assist users under the age of 18 to create an account prior to arriving. You must complete Hive Safety Training before registering for this workshop.

      Join us for a new hour-long program, featuring thirty minutes of songs and stories and thirty minutes of open play! No tickets required. This program is recommended for children ages 0-5 and their caregivers.

    • Toddler Story Time (Main)

      We invite children and their caregivers for 20-25 minutes of stories and songs. Designed for children 18 months to 3 years and their caregivers. This program can accommodate 45 people. Tickets are available on a first come, first served basis on the day of the program. The entire party must be present to receive a ticket. This program starts promptly.       Innovators for Purpose (iFp) Studio is a teen-powered design and innovation program where teens channel their energy and creative vision to imagine and build a better world. Blending art, design, science, technology, and storytelling within a social justice framework, teens engage in real-world client-sponsored projects.     • Writing Workshop: Finding and Refining Your Voice in Nonfiction (Main)

      This series of four workshops – which can be taken independently or sequentially – will help you nurture your unique perspective in nonfiction. We will cover how to refine your topic, research effectively, define your point of view, and build effective arguments and narratives. This will be suitable for writers of many types of nonfiction – essays, feature writing, creative nonfiction, biography, cultural criticism, memoir, and more. The four workshops are as follows: January 9, 2025: Finding The Topic Within The Topic January 16, 2025: Fruitful (And Less Boring) Research January 23, 2025: Argumentative Makeover! Defining Your POV January 30, 2025: Building An Argument That Sticks Note: Because these workshops can be taken independently, patrons must register for each session they wish to attend.
