Cambridge Updates "I Voted" Sticker

Cambridge has introduced a new “I voted” sticker for the election this fall. Following a Policy Order introduced by the Mayor in February, the Mayor’s Office worked with the Election Commission, Family Policy Council, and City Manager's office to hold a design contest for a sticker that reflects the languages, culture, and people of Cambridge. 

The sticker includes “I Voted” translated in Amharic, Arabic, Bangla, Chinese, English, Haitian Creole, and Spanish. The design was chosen in June following a contest at Cambridge Rindge and Latin. Sophomore Evan Garvey’s design was selected out of 55 submissions.

“Voting stickers have historically made voters feel part of a larger movement, and it provides us with a badge of honor for fulfilling our civic duty,” said Mayor Sumbul Siddiqui. “When I thought about how to make our voting process more inclusive and more representative of the Cambridge community, I knew engaging our students from CRLS to design our city’s next stickers would be an exciting way to get our younger Cantabrigians civically engaged right from the start. The submissions were creative and thoughtful, and I’m so glad we have chosen designs to bring new and old voters together.”

The registration deadline to be able to vote in this year's Cambridge municipal election is October 13th. You can register online, via-mail, or in-person at the Election Commission. Get more information here.
